Will you be visiting Amsterdam during these Christmas holidays? If so then here are the most fun things to check out during these lovely days! Make sure to dress warm and reserve your bikes here, because they will be going fast this year!
Things to do!
Funky Xmas Market: The monthly Sunday market, which highlights the work of local artists, fashion designers and creatives, gets a little bit groovy with the special Funky Xmas Market in early December. Head to the Westergasfabriek to browse through a heap of handmade art and accessories, or simply sit back and enjoy the artsy atmosphere.

Amsterdam Christmas Market: Inside the industrial warehouse of Kromhouthal in Amsterdam Noord awaits a magical Christmas market for you to explore. Find the perfect Christmas gifts – and get them wrapped! – before settling down to enjoy a glass of special beer and the music of live bands, performances and a special children’s program.
Amsterdamsche Kerstmarkt, Kromhouthal, 22–23 December
Ice Village: Each year, Amsterdam’s Museumplein transforms into a charming Christmas village, complete with an ice rink, live entertainment, market stalls and plenty of festive food and drink to keep you warm. Take a spin on the ice – or play some human bowling – in one of the most breath-taking (and not just because of the cold!) Christmas markets in Amsterdam.
Ice*Village Amsterdam, Museumplein, 20–30 December
Amsterdam Winter Parade: Not to be confused with the culinary performance event with a similar name, the Amsterdamse Winterparade is a Christmasssy extravaganza complete with market stalls, a fifty-metre Ferris wheel, an ice skating rink and thousands of fairy lights. Making it extra special, you can also sing your heart out at the karaoke bar, get merry in the beer village, soak in a jacuzzi or snuggle up with a seasonal film at the Christmas cinema.
Amsterdamse Winterparade, RAI Amsterdam, 21 December-1 January
Pure Market: Over 90 craft entrepreneurs in the field of food and drinks and special non-food.
The Pure Market xmas edition will be at the Amstel location on December 10 and at Frankendael on December 18
Sissy Boy: Woah, the Sissy Boy Christmas Market went crazy when we posted it on Facebook. Not that surprising, because its by far the most popular Christmas market in town. Perhaps that has something to do with the delicious drinks and cozy vibes over there.
Sissy Boy, Amstelveld, 9 December
Rooftop Xmas Market: In the weekend of December 16 and 17 you can visit the highest Christmas market in Amsterdam at Floor17. Enjoy a spectacular view and the Xmas Market with more than thirty stalls of local brands and shopkeepers with nice and original gifts for under the Christmas tree. Besides that, there is of course hot chocolate, mulled wine and wintery cocktails.
